Featherbed Lane Elementary Library

Our Library
Over the last 2 years, our library has
undergone a lot of changes. Upon arriving last year, it was clear to see that
the library had been neglected. There were extra tables and cabinets taking up
a lot of the room. In addition, many of the books were out-of-date and moldy.
After a lot of rearranging and removing furniture, the library finally became
a functioning learning environment. With the hard work of Della Curtis and
Arthur Stritch, two of our county's Library/Media supervisors and activists,
we were able to get over $100,000 for new books. This money allowed us to get
books to fill the needs of the curriculum, in addition to providing students
with literature for pleasure reading. The improvements to the library would
not have been possible without the support of Ms. Curtis and Mr. Stritch, the
staff at Featherbed Lane and all of the students who gave book suggestions.
Take a look at the before and after pictures to see how truly amazing our
transformation has been!
